Welcome and Hello

My name’s Pixel. I’m a young adult who has been swimming in the world wide web for a while. I was born and raised on a tiny island called Guam. I moved out in my early 20’s to join the United States Navy. I am currently working as a Hospital Corpsman and have been stationed at a hospital, ship with a deployment, and now overseas in Japan! I am a 2D artist by trade and majoring in Game Art. Around 12 years old I managed to get a hang of HTML and CSS during the GaiaOnline era. I am surprised as I write this to still be able to read and write code and make the website it is today! Yippie!!

Art itself has been a form of escapism along with video games and visual books like manga and comics. I grew up in a semi-repressed environment to which I found very backwards thinking. The only way to express myself was through art is whatever medium I could get my hands on despite being viewed as "wasting money". It later developed into digital art in my sophomore year when Tumblr was at its peak. From there it grew to more suggestive themes and mature content.

Why this website?

I stumbled upon Shar’s video and other YouTubers is where I re-discovered the indie web and that's how I found Neocities! Browsing other websites re-ignited the fire of coding and self expression. I immediately moved my domain over here and plan on staying here for a long, long time. This website itself is considered a project amoungst my other creative work of 2D, 3D modeling, and photographs as my ever-growing portfolio. I highly encourage anyone to build their own website - it is almost like building your home from the ground up!
